Description
65mm bi metal wing tip screws for timber to light steel fix timber directly into steel sections up to 5mm thick. They provide a fast and reliable fixing, so you do not need to pre-drill.
The wing-tip design clears the timber as the screw drives through. As a result, the screw rotates freely and reaches full drilling speed without the thread binding in the wood.
When the screw reaches the steel, the wings break off. The self-drilling point then cuts into the metal, and the thread forms a strong and secure fixing.
These screws are fully threaded, so they provide consistent grip throughout the fixing. Therefore, they are suitable for a wide range of timber to steel applications.
The bi metal construction combines a hardened carbon steel drill tip with an A2 stainless steel body. This provides strong drilling performance along with high corrosion resistance.
They feature a countersunk head with ribs. This allows the screw to sit flush into the timber and gives a clean finish.
