Zinc coach screws are a traditional heavy-duty fixing designed for structural timber applications. Manufactured to DIN 571, these hex head screws provide strong pull-out resistance thanks to their deep, coarse thread profile.

They are commonly used for joining heavy timbers, securing brackets and ironmongery to wood, or fixing into masonry when paired with a suitable nylon plug.

The part-threaded shank, approximately two-thirds of the overall screw length, helps draw materials tightly together for secure clamping. For example, a 100mm screw will typically have around 60mm of threaded section.

Zinc plating provides corrosion resistance for indoor use and sheltered outdoor environments, making these screws suitable for general construction, timber framing, landscaping and structural work where exposure to the elements is limited.

For best results, drill an appropriate pilot hole before installation, particularly when working with hardwood. Drive using a spanner, socket or impact wrench and avoid overtightening to prevent splitting.
