Solo Zinc Woodscrews are an economic, single thread woodscrew range designed for consistent and dependable performance across everyday trade fixing applications. Suitable for use in softwood, hardwood, chipboard, MDF and other man-made boards, they can also be used for masonry fixing when installed with a suitable plastic wall plug.

Finished with a bright zinc plating, this range is intended for internal and dry environment use, making it a practical choice where corrosion resistance beyond standard indoor conditions is not required. Solo zinc woodscrews offer a balance of reliability, ease of installation and value.

Solo Zinc Woodscrews are designed for general fixing rather than specialist or structural applications. They’re commonly used for:

  • General timber-to-timber fixing
  • Softwood and hardwood applications
  • Chipboard, MDF and man-made boards
  • Masonry fixing when used with a plastic wall plug
  • Maintenance, second-fix and general construction work

Key Design Features Across the Range

Solo zinc woodscrews share practical features that support consistent installation and reliable holding strength:

  • Single thread design for secure fixing and good pull-out resistance in low-density substrates
  • Wax lubrication to reduce driving torque and improve insertion speed
  • 40° deep single thread for dependable holding strength
  • 25° sharp point and single lead for fast starts and improved thread acceptance

All sizes up to and including 75mm are fully threaded, while 80mm and above are partially threaded with a 70mm thread length, making longer screws suitable where draw-up is required.

Available Head Types

The Solo Zinc Woodscrew range is available in two head styles to suit different fixing requirements:

  • Countersunk head – for flush finishes where the screw head needs to sit level with the surface
  • Pan head – for applications requiring improved clamping and surface contact
