Welded Masonry Hangers
Welded masonry joist hangers are designed to support timber joists from brick or block walls in structural timber construction. They are a strong and reliable choice for floor joists, extensions and renovation work where deeper joists or heavier loads require extra support.
The Timco masonry hanger range can be installed by either building into the wall during construction or, for renovation work, by raking out existing brickwork. Manufactured from pre-galvanised steel, these hangers provide a high level of corrosion resistance. For more demanding environments, selected sizes are also available in A2 stainless steel for ultimate corrosion resistance.
Unlike single piece hangers, welded masonry hangers use a reinforced welded construction, making them a strong option for structural timber floors and other load-bearing applications. They conform to Eurocode 6 and service class 2, helping provide confidence in masonry-supported timber connections.
Welded masonry hangers are a good choice when you need to support wider or deeper joists in brick or block walls, especially where a more heavy duty fixing is required.

Note: joist hangers above 150mm are manufactured 10mm less to allow for notching and regularised timber.
Galvanised vs Stainless Steel Masonry Hangers
Welded masonry hangers are available in both pre-galvanised steel and A2 stainless steel depending on the environment and level of corrosion resistance required.

When to choose welded masonry hangers
Welded masonry hangers are a strong option when supporting deeper or wider joists in brick or block walls. They are particularly suitable for structural floor construction, extensions and other projects especially where a heavy duty masonry hanger is required.
If you are working with more standard joist sizes and want a simpler folded design, single piece masonry hangers may be more suitable.
