Softwood Decking Screws for Outdoor Timber
These green exterior coated decking screws are designed specifically for fixing softwood decking boards to timber joists. Manufactured to deliver reliable outdoor performance, they offer corrosion resistance tested up to 500 hours in salt spray conditions.
The reduced head sits neatly below the surface for a flush finish, while ribs under the head assist smooth countersinking. A helix shank helps remove debris as the screw drives in, improving clamping and reducing timber jacking.
The 25° sharp point and single lead thread provide fast pick-up and consistent penetration into softwood decking boards.
Installation Guidance
For best results:
- Position screws 15–20mm from the board edge
- Use two screws per joist to prevent board twist
- Keep fixing lines straight to maintain even tension
Pilot holes are generally not required in softwood. However, when fixing near board edges or using dry or reclaimed timber, a small pilot hole can reduce the risk of splitting.
