About Classic A2 Stainless Steel Countersunk Screws
Classic A2 Stainless Steel Countersunk Screws are multi-purpose fixings designed to deliver consistent performance and corrosion resistance across a wide range of common materials.
Manufactured from A2 stainless steel, these screws are ideal for applications where protection against rust and staining is required, while maintaining the familiar handling and reliability of the Classic multi-purpose screw design.
They’re commonly used for internal work, sheltered external applications and environments where standard plated screws may be unsuitable.
Designed for Multi-Material Fixing
Classic A2 Stainless Steel Countersunk Screws are suitable for use in:
- Softwood applications
- Hardwood (pre-drilled where required)
- Chipboard and MDF
- Plastic components
- Thin sheet metal
Stainless steel fixings are particularly important where the base material has corrosive characteristics, such as green oak, or where moisture exposure could lead to staining or premature corrosion.
Key Design Features
These screws retain the proven Classic multi-purpose design, combined with stainless steel durability:
- 25° sharp point for fast pick-up and improved thread acceptance
- 40° deep single thread to provide secure fixing with good pull-out resistance
- Double countersunk head to assist smooth countersinking and reduce the likelihood of head shear
- A2 stainless steel construction for excellent corrosion resistance and clean finishes
All sizes up to and including 75mm are fully threaded, while 80mm and above feature a 70mm thread length, helping balance driving performance consideration.
Where A2 Stainless Countersunk Screws Are Best Used
A2 stainless steel screws are well suited to:
- Internal joinery and finishing work
- Kitchens, bathrooms and utility areas
- Sheltered external applications
- Fixing into corrosive timbers such as green oak
- Projects where appearance and corrosion resistance are important
For more aggressive environments, coastal locations or constant exposure to the elements, A4 stainless steel screws may be more suitable.
