Classic A2 Stainless Steel Multi-Purpose – Pan Head
A2 stainless steel multi-purpose wood screws designed for corrosion-resistant fixing and improved clamping across timber, boards and plastics.
About Classic A2 Stainless Steel Pan Head Screws
Classic A2 Stainless Steel Pan Head Wood Screws are multi-purpose fixings designed to provide reliable performance, corrosion resistance and enhanced clamping capability in a wide range of common trade applications.
Manufactured from A2 stainless steel, these screws are ideal where protection against rust and staining is required, while retaining the familiar handling and consistency of the Classic screw design.
Pan Head Screws for Improved Clamping
The pan head design offers increased surface contact compared to countersunk screws, making it particularly suitable where components need to be firmly clamped together without countersinking the head.
These screws are commonly used where a visible head is acceptable or preferred, and where holding materials tight to the substrate is important.
Suitable for Multiple Materials
Classic A2 Stainless Steel Pan Head Screws are suitable for fixing into:
- Softwood
- Hardwood (pre-drilled where required)
- Chipboard and MDF
- Plastics
- Thin sheet metal
Stainless steel fixings are recommended where the base material has corrosive characteristics, such as green oak, or where moisture exposure could lead to staining or premature corrosion.
Key Design Features
These screws combine proven Classic design features with stainless steel durability:
- Pan head for improved clamping and load distribution
- 40° deep single thread for secure fixing and good pull-out resistance
- Sharp point for fast pick-up and improved thread acceptance
- Single slash point (25mm and above) to reduce driving torque and help minimise splitting when fixing close to edges
- A2 stainless steel construction for excellent corrosion resistance
All sizes up to and including 75mm are fully threaded, while 80mm and above feature a 70mm thread length, helping balance drive performance and clamping strength in thicker materials.
Where A2 Stainless Pan Head Screws Are Best Used
These screws are well suited to:
- Interior joinery and fit-out work
- Kitchens, bathrooms and utility areas
- Sheltered external applications
- Fixing into corrosive timbers
- Applications where improved clamping is required and countersinking is not needed
For harsher external or marine environments, A4 stainless steel screws may be more appropriate.
