Timco C2 Clamp-Fix Screws
Timber-to-timber clamping screws designed to prevent timber jacking and deliver tight, stable joints.
About Timco C2 Clamp-Fix Screws
Timco C2 Clamp-Fix Screws are purpose-designed timber-to-timber fixing screws that provide a strong clamping action during installation. Unlike standard woodscrews, Clamp-Fix screws are engineered to prevent timber “jacking”, helping draw materials together tightly for a secure, flush finish.
This makes them particularly well suited to applications such as framing, decking substructures, fencing and general joinery, where clean alignment and joint stability are critical.
Designed for Secure Timber-to-Timber Fixing
C2 Clamp-Fix Screws are commonly used where two pieces of timber must be pulled together firmly without gaps, movement or surface lift, including:
- Timber framing and carcassing
- Decking subframes and joists
- Fencing and gate construction
- Studwork and structural timber joints
- Joinery and general construction
They are intended specifically for timber-to-timber applications, rather than general fixing into boards or masonry.
Key Design Features
C2 Clamp-Fix Screws incorporate advanced features to improve clamping performance, control and consistency on site:
- Patented Twin-Cut point for rapid pick-up, faster insertion and reduced timber splitting
- Precision TX drive recess for positive drive engagement and reduced cam-out
- Double countersunk head with ribs to improve countersinking and deliver a clean, flush finish
- Dual-angle thread for strong pull-out resistance and secure holding power
- High-molecular polymer lubricant to reduce insertion torque by up to 52% and improve corrosion resistance
Clamp-Fix screws are partially threaded from 40mm, allowing the unthreaded shank to pull the top timber tight against the second piece, creating a true clamping effect.
Choosing the Right Clamp-Fix Screw Size
Selecting the correct screw length is essential for achieving proper clamping performance.
- For thinner timber sections, choose shorter lengths to avoid breakthrough and over-penetration
- For structural joints and thicker timbers, longer screws provide improved pull-out resistance and joint strength
As a general guide, the screw length should be matched to the combined thickness of the timbers being joined, ensuring sufficient penetration into the second piece to achieve a secure clamp without forcing the materials apart.
Where Clamp-Fix Fits in the C2 Range
C2 Clamp-Fix Screws sit alongside C2 Strong-Fix as a specialist timber fixing solution. While Strong-Fix is designed for general structural timber applications, Clamp-Fix is the preferred option where tight draw-up and joint control are the priority.
If preventing timber jacking and achieving a clean, closed joint is critical, Clamp-Fix offers a reliable and purpose-built solution.
