Description
120mm wing tip screws for timber to heavy steel fix timber directly into steel sections up to 12mm thick. They provide a strong and reliable fixing, so you do not need to pre-drill.
The wing-tip design clears the timber as the screw drives through. As a result, the screw rotates freely and reaches full drilling speed without the thread binding in the wood.
When the screw reaches the steel, the wings break off. The self-drilling point then cuts into the metal, and the thread forms a secure fixing.
The partially threaded design helps pull the timber tightly against the steel. Therefore, it improves clamping and creates a firm connection between materials.
These screws feature a countersunk head with ribs. This allows the screw to sit flush into the timber and gives a clean finish.
The zinc plated finish makes these screws suitable for internal use. However, they are best used in dry environments where corrosion exposure is minimal.
Key Features
- Designed for fixing timber to steel up to 12mm thick
- Wing-tip prevents thread binding in timber
- Self-drilling point removes the need for pre-drilling
- Partially threaded for improved clamping performance
- Countersunk head provides a flush finish
- Supplied with PH3 S2 driver bit
120mm wing tip screws for timber to heavy steel are ideal for construction and structural applications. They work well where deeper penetration and a tight timber-to-steel fixing are required.
