Description
Bi metal self drilling screws 55mm fix metal to heavy section steel up to 12mm thick. The self-drilling No.5 point cuts through steel efficiently, so you don’t need to pre-drill. As a result, installation is quicker and more consistent on site.
In addition, the hex head provides a strong drive and helps maintain control during fixing. The metric thread with V flutes improves cutting performance and creates a secure hold in thicker steel sections. This makes them a reliable choice for structural and fabrication work.
These bi metal self drilling screws 55mm use a bi-metal construction. The A2-304 stainless steel body resists corrosion, while the hardened carbon steel drill tip delivers the strength needed to drill into heavy gauge steel. Therefore, they are well suited to urban and industrial environments where durability is important.

Delivery & Returns
All orders to the UK mainland are free of charge over £85 inc VAT. Orders under £85 inc VAT are charged at £9.95. We aim to dispatch orders placed before 3pm Monday to Friday on the same working day, with delivery to most UK mainland addresses typically taking 1–2 working days.
Some products have a longer delivery lead time, such as 3–4 working days. Where this applies, the expected delivery timeframe will be clearly stated on the individual product page. Returns: Please inspect your goods as soon as reasonably possible after delivery and contact us promptly if anything is damaged, incorrect or appears to be faulty. Prompt notification helps us investigate delivery issues with our couriers and suppliers, but does not affect your statutory rights.
For consumer change-of-mind returns, you are responsible for arranging and paying the cost of returning the goods to us. Some products, including ladders, long-length building materials and other oversized goods, cannot normally be returned using standard postal services. For large, heavy or oversized goods that cannot normally be returned by post, we estimate that return carriage may cost up to £75 (including VAT) within the UK mainland. The actual cost will depend on the size and weight of the goods, the collection location and the carrier or return service used.
